Visit Turku active in China
The City of Turku and Visit Turku have already been displayed in Chongqing on several occasions. In December 2016, Turku was made familiar as a travel destination during the Finnish Culture Week event organised by Visit Finland and Finnair. During the summer of 2017, the Finnish Santa Clause and pupil visits to Finland were marketed together with Visit Rovaniemi.
According to Anne-Marget Hellén, Director of Tourism with the City of Turku, marketing directed towards China naturally aims at making the region better known and increasing the number of Chinese visitors in Turku. Turku is introduced for the Chinese as a Scandinavian city where one can experience European city culture, taste Finnish food and experience nature.
- In collaboration with the Chinese Kylin Travel, Visit Turku also arranges expert visits to Turku. Moreover, at the beginning of this year, we opened a social media account in the Chinese social media service Weibo, says Hellén.
