The Paavo Nurmi Games are part of the IAAF World Challenge series. The first Paavo Nurmi Games were arranged in 1957 by the Turku Athletic Association in honour of their greatest runner, Paavo Nurmi, on his 60th birthday.

Saaristo Open hotel packages
In June 9th–10 th of June 2017 will be held Saaristo Open festival on Kaarina’s Hovirinta beach. Top names in Finland, stars and the hottest releases will all be introduced on the festival.

Tall Ships’ Races - accommodations
The biggest sailing ship event of them all will once again be landing in Turku in the summer of 2017!
Turku has previously hosted the Tall Ships Races in 1996, 2003 and 2009, and the Tall Ships Regatta in 2011, when Turku was the European Capital of Culture.
The 2017 Tall Ships Races will start in Halmstad, Sweden, from which the ships will sail to Kotka. From there, the ships will set sail for Turku followed by Klaipeda, Lithuania, and Szczecin, Poland, which is the final port of the event.
The Tall Ships Races has attracted a half a million visitors from all over the country and Europe each time it has been held.
