Turku Art Museum’s diverse and high-quality exhibitions introduce the fascinating world of art, from classical works to the latest in contemporary art. In addition to the varied exhibition programme the museum offers many other activities as well as the beautiful museum atmosphere in which to meet and socialise.

The museum manages one of Finland’s most comprehensive art collections. Regarded as a national treasure the collection features art from Finland’s Golden Age (the turn of the 20th Century), self-portraits, Finnish surrealism as well as pop art. Today the museum’s collection includes almost 7,000 pieces and part of the collection is on continuous display through changing exhibitions.

The museum’s National Romantic granite building is one of the city’s most prominent landmarks and also an attraction in itself. Designed by Professor Gustaf Nyström and completed in 1904, the building was the second in Finland designed and built specifically as an art museum.

In cosy Café Victor you can break for a coffee or a light lunch and in the summertime you can enjoy one of the most fantastic views over the city from the terrace. Guests can also browse in Muusa the museum shop, where you can acquire delicate items, beautiful gifts and necessities.
