Terms and conditions for the use of crowdsourced images

We will request the rights to use certain photos in Instagram that would in our opinion help us present Turku to visitors. Photos will not be used to advertise any one particular company and you can always request to remove our rights of using and storing your images. Terms and conditions

Visit Turku collects images to present Turku from the perspective of locals and visitors. The images will only be used in such context where the Turku region is presented on a general level. The images will not be used to promote individual companies or the sale of individual products, e.g. as an illustration of products sold online. Visit Turku strives to communicate a positive city image, which in turn boosts the region's tourism and the success of the tourism industry. Through your photos, you can be involved in helping us with this work.

In these terms and conditions, Visit Turku means the City of Turku Tourist Office and Turku Touring Oy, which acts as the technical and responsible party for the organisation's sales.

Purpose of the images

The images will only be used on Visit Turku's digital channels. Images will not be used to promote individual products. Visit Turku may not sell or otherwise transfer the images to third parties, except for those partners who, on behalf of Visit Turku, carry out operations on the Visit Turku channels listed below (for example, an advertising agency).

Channels

The images can be used on Visit Turku's digital channels, which are currently visitturku.fi and Visit Turku's social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. The images can also be utilized in any possible new online services that Visit Turku may develop for a similar purpose as the existing services.

Validity of licenses

Visit Turku can use the images in the aforementioned way without time limit.

Crediting images

When using images, the name of the source Instagram account (@visitturku, for example) is always mentioned.

Editing images

Editing, such as color correction or cropping, is allowed for the images. Manipulation of the subject matter of images is not allowed.

Image storage and processing

The images will be stored in Visit Turku's internal image bank, which can only be accessed by Visit Turku employees. The image bank is provided to us by a service called CrowdRiff. You can read about CrowdRiff's terms of service from the link below.

These terms and conditions do not limit the sender's right to use the image he or she has submitted for his or her own purposes in any manner.

No compensation is paid to the sender for the use of the images.

If the sender of the image wishes to revoke the right to use the image, a request must be sent to Visit Turku via email viestinta@visitturku.fi. The request must describe the photo in question or have the photo itself attached. The request also needs include the Instagram account name along with the name and e-mail address of the sender.
